Shree Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga Temple is a very famous Mandir and nestled in the foothills of the Brahmagiri Mountains. This is one of the 12 jyotirlingas in India which is dedicated to Tridev, Lord Bramha, Vishnu and Mahesh. The jyotirlinga is crowned by jewels from the times of the pandavs. There are 3 faces of lingams in a circular pit, and it is located at Trimbak town in Nashik of Maharashtra. Trimbak is a town as well as a tehsil too. It is an ancient Hindu pilgrim place, and is situated at the source of the Godavari River, which is one of the holiest rivers in India.

This temple was present from the period of the Satavahana dynasty and later re-constructed in the place of the old temple in the 18th century (1740-1760) by Peshwa Balaji Baji Rao (also known as Nana Saheb).

The temple is built in the Hemadpanti architectural style, characterized by complex carvings, sculptures and decorative design and patterns made of black stone to enhance the beauty of the temple, and is also known as the Black Stone Temple. The temple holds huge religious significance in the heart of Hindus. You can also visit the Harihar fort nearby, 14.9 km from the Trimbkeshwar temple.
