The fort is built on triangular-shaped rocks, and two edges of the fort are 90 degrees & third edge is 75 degrees inclined to the west. The Height of the fort is 3676 feet (1,120 meters) vertically tall from sea level.

It is very famous for the steep rock, and 117 rock cut stairs are made at an inclined angle of 80 degrees to climb up the hill, and there are small pits to grip to hold hands, from where you can easily climb upwards while holding the stairs’ pits, and it has the temple of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva on top of the hill.

The primary purpose of this fort was to maintain military surveillance and security, protecting the major trade routes, especially those in the Nashik region.
